BIFF is the largest film festival in Norway, which annually displays 160 documentary and feature films, and is visited by almost 70,000 people. The main feature of the festival is the large attendance of schoolchildren of all ages who are actively involved in educational programs and VR research.
Bergen International Film Festival director since 1999, Mr. Tor Fosse, will present BIFF at the Festival of Tolerance's Festival Market. Fosse is the founder of the Tromso International Film Festival and runs the company for movie distribution Tour de Force. He will present BIFF's education system through film and media culture at the Festival Market.
In addition to Mr. Fosse's lecture, the documentary film „Moldovan Miracle“, directed by Stian Indrevolla, will be screened which has won a prize as the best Western-Norwegian film at the latest edition od BIFF.
Film „Moldovan Miracle“ is an inspirational story of Norwegian ophthalmologist Hans Bjorn Bakketeig and his assistant Tatiana who have been trying to establish the first Optometric Clinic in Moldova for years. In their desire to help solve one of the biggest health problems in the poorest country in Europe, they face bureaucracy, corruption and lack of respect.
