Sound of Diversity
Sound of Diversity
is a large network of cities aimed at strengthening the role of local authorities in promoting diversity, combating discrimination, and including minorities.
We connect local areas that host high-visibility events such as:
Gaming Village Festival in Óbidos (PT),
Khamoro Roma Festival in Prague (CZ),
Multitude Festival in Seine-Saint-Denis (FR),
Festival of Various Arts in Aleksandrów Łódzki (PL),
Festival of Tolerance (HR),
Cultural Days of Bârlad (RO),
Festival of Nations in Molfetta (IT),
Greek Dance Festival in Kileler (GR),
Summer Dying Loud Festival (PL).
During each of these community events, alongside the usual and well-established formats of city networks such as conferences, practical workshops (trainings and seminars), exchanges of good practices, study visits, capacity-building sessions, expert presentations for partner representatives and stakeholders, everything will be enriched with the Sound of Diversity Stage – an open community space designed to involve local residents, activists, young people, minority representatives, and experts in discussions on topics related to diversity management, combating discrimination, inclusion, as well as EU initiatives, policies, and vision in this field.
Sound of Diversity Stage
will introduce new formats, artistic and creative performances addressing transnational issues relevant to EU policies, enabling a fresh, often challenging perspective on local policies and programs. It will do so by integrating an inclusive approach, intersectional anti-discrimination, and gender equality.
SoD
aims to contribute to ongoing discussions and initiatives at the EU level, particularly during the EU Diversity Month 2026, through the implementation of local Sound of Diversity activities hosted by partner organizations in their territories. These will be connected with events such as municipal cultural days in Budapest and Novi Sad, and the international inclusive festival “Play with Me” in Ljubljana. The project will result, among other things, in the creation of a practical handbook on diversity, inclusion, and belonging, as well as improved policies in these areas in partner cities.
