Music program

Music program

Just as Aristotle emphasized the importance of music in education, so did Francis Bacon, in the rejuvenating atmosphere of the Renaissance, foster a profound belief in the potential and capabilities of humanity, recognizing the ethical potency of music and its influence on human emotions and behaviour. Taking a cue from these thinkers, the Festival of Tolerance embarked on a transformative journey in 2008 by introducing a captivating music program. This visionary initiative aimed to forge a deeper connection with diverse audiences and effectively communicate its mission of promoting a society rooted in acceptance and understanding, all through the enchanting power of music, thus maintaining the tradition of bringing people together through art with a special focus on good music. In addition to a rich film program and accompanying events, the Festival has so far hosted top international and domestic musicians of various genres – ranging from jazz to traditional Romani music, klezmer music, rock and electronics, and up to well- known local and foreign DJs such as the Brazilian DJ Joice Muniz and the Austrian duo Ogris Debris. Among numerous popular DJs, Filip Eterović has been the main protagonist of our dancing evenings and socializing for many years. For this reason, DJ Phillipe (Filip Eterović) will grace us with his presence at this year’s festival. His exceptional taste in music will not only set the tone for the opening ceremony but also serve as the perfect complement to the week-long lineup of top-notch films.

phillipe

phillipe is a fan of colourful socks and one of the founders of CFSN (Confusion). For years he co-organized Illectricity, a cutting-edge audio-visual arts festival, as well as FRüHSTüCK and phillitchevanje club nights. When he’s not behind the decks, he spends hours producing his own music, remixing others or putting together sound design for young visual creatives, but time just doesn't flow in his favour. As a DJ, he has performed in many clubs from Istanbul, Sofia, Skopje, Podgorica to Budapest, Vienna, Berlin and distant Poland and Latvia. He was a guest of the biggest music festivals in this part of Europe such as Love International, Elevate, Dimensions, Outlook, Modem, Exit festival, to name but a few.
