Nearly twenty years after her mother’s death, journalist Marisa Fox discovers that the woman she knew as Tamar had concealed key parts of her past. The search for her mother’s real identity becomes a seven-year investigation across several countries, leading to a Nazi forced-labour camp and a group of young Polish Jewish women whose story remained hidden for decades.
A personal investigation becomes a film about trauma, resistance, survival and reinvention — and about a daughter trying to understand a mother who refused to let history define her as a victim.
