Four-year-old Shafi and his nine-year-old sister Somira leave a Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh hoping to reunite with their family in Malaysia. Ahead lies a perilous journey whose meaning children understand differently from the adults directing their path.
Akio Fujimoto observes migration, borders and forced displacement from a child’s perspective: through waiting, fear, play, mutual care and the simple need to reach a place where it is finally possible to feel safe.
