Jewish Film Festival does not forget even the elderly people and the assimilation of these persons into society! With many students, who volunteered at the last fourth festival, we encourage for the first time the elderly once to join us and socialize at the film festival as a part of the “intergenerational solidarity” project.
The turnout was excellent as well as the result!
In collaboration with retirement homes and pensioner clubs we have presented the festival activities and invited those interested to join us in the organization. Intergenerational Solidarity Project was initiated in order to improve the quality of life of elderly people and their further assimilation into society.
The result of that collaboration between young and the elderly is quality time spent together during the exchange of experiences, knowledge, ideas, energy … The young volunteers and retired persons aspires to achieve the same goal with the same pleasure – to improve the organization of all activities of the Jewish Film Festival – and they have succeeded!
In the first pilot project 44 people participated of whom the youngest was 17 years old and the oldest volunteer 87 years old – all with the same passion. Encouraged with an excellent turnout of volunteers and their successful cooperation, regardless of age, the project “intergenerational solidarity” continues to grow and improve at the forthcoming event.
We invite all enthusiastic, film and cultural events lovers, regardless of age, to become part of the our team that will introduce the fifth Jewish Film Festival Zagreb to its citizens and their guests.
